– Morning all… We live in an age that’s bursting with information. At the tap of a button, we can discover facts, debate opinions, and accumulate knowledge. But with all we know, there’s one vital question we still must answer: Where does true wisdom begin? Proverbs 9:10 gives us a surprising and profound answer: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” The word “fear” in this instance isn’t about terror, but in fact reverence – an awe-filled recognition of God’s holiness, power, justice, and love. It’s the humility of heart that says, “God, you are God, and I am not.” This reverence has to be the starting point. We can study theology, master doctrine, even serve faithfully, but if our journey doesn’t begin with a surrendered heart that honours God above all else, we’ve missed the essence of wisdom. “Knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” To know God is more than knowing about Him. It’s walking with Him, seeking His heart, and being shaped by His truth. It’s the kind of knowing that changes us from the inside out. Wisdom isn’t found in how much we’ve learned – it’s found in who we follow. The wisest thing we can do today is this: bow our hearts, open His Word, and say, “Teach me, Lord. Let my reverence lead to your wisdom.” “True wisdom begins and ends with God, not just in our heads, but in our hearts.” (C.H. Spurgeon)

– Morning all… Reflecting this morning, I found myself thinking about all the things we spend our time building – our careers, our families, our reputations, our routines. Some days it feels like everything is in order, standing strong. But life has a way of testing what we’ve built. A phone call can change everything. One moment of bad news, one unexpected loss, and suddenly we’re not so sure how steady the ground beneath us really is. We build so much in life, but what are we building on? It’s easy to build on feelings, trends, or the approval of others. But that’s like stacking sand into a sculpture and hoping it survives the tide. Eventually, storms come for all of us. And when they do, only one foundation stands unshaken: obedience to Christ, trust in His character, and a daily life shaped by His Word. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24) Jesus gives us the answer, not with grand philosophy but with a simple picture: a wise builder who not only listens but acts on His words. That’s the difference between a life that stands and one that collapses. His truth is not just information, it’s a foundation. So, ask yourself today – not just What am I building? but What am I building it on?
