Lanreath Tractor Service
Lanreath Tractor Service
10th October 2021
Over 50 people gathered on the village green in Lanreath on a beautiful sunny autumnal afternoon to celebrate the work of the tractor and its role in agriculture. A number of local farmers who farm in the parish were able to be in attendance along with their families. It was a great opportunity just to meet up and share after a busy harvest season. The children especially enjoyed exploring the tractors following the short service. It was great too to have Ruby from the National Trust who works as a ranger on the coast path. During the service she shared about her work and how she learnt to drive the tractor. The Rector preached on sharing using the analogy of the feeding of 5000 even though it is difficult for many Cornish farmers the plight of so many overseas is so much more difficult. The congregation thought about the situation in Afghanistan and the plight of East African farmers who again this year have had to content with huge plagues of locusts.
