Just under 50 people gathered for the Pelynt Christingle service on Saturday afternoon. Many children arrived early to make the Christingles and enjoy a range of Christmas Craft activities. The Trelawny Rev, Richard Allen explained to everyone the meaning of the Christingle in that the orange represents the beautiful world God made. The Candle depicts Jesus as the light of the world. The red band reminds us of Jesus love to us in that he died at Easter to forgive our sins and the sweets are a reminder of the fruit of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control which we all need at Christmas tide and the world needs a big measure of at the moment.
