Pelynt recently celebrated Trelawny Day. The children from the local school hosted a very Cornish celebration in church which included a beautiful rendition of Cornwall my Home. Following the service children and parents gathered around the village Celtic Cross where the Trelawny Rev, Richard Allen conducted a short memorial in remembrance of Bishop Trelawny. The children laid sunflowers in the black and gold of Cornwall and then tucked into saffron buns. Everyone sang Trelawny to complete the celebrations. Later on that day local Historian Carole Vivien gave the Trelawny lecture in the village hall. This was followed by a pasty supper and short church service concluded with a concert from the Pelynt Male Choir.
